Museo delle Arti Creative Tessili (NACT) - Civitella del Tronto (TE)

The Museum of Textile Creative Arts (NACT) collects a collection of fashion history from the end of the eighteenth century to the first after the war. With more than 500 pieces, it represents one of the largest Italian collections in nineteenth-century textile history.  The museum was created to preserve and celebrate the history of Civitella: royal city, noble city, frontier city, city of great cultural and commercial exchanges. The route, through different rooms, focuses mainly on stylistic evolution and the natural change of shapes in the packaging of the dress, more specifically on the female one. There are, however, examples of men's and children's clothing, as well as sacred and military clothing. The exhibition, in medieval rooms, is characteristic and dynamic, is enriched by a nineteenth-century bedroom, sewing machines, frames, a particular washing machine of the first half of the twentieth century and a Giordani wheelchair of the thirties.
