Cerchio

Cerchio

Small village of Abruzzo in the Marsica, Cerchio has ancient roots and its history is linked to a legend. It is said that the first houses were built around a theater built by the Romans to celebrate the coronation of Emperor Claudius after he had dried up the lake of Fucino in 51 AD. Around the village, the landscape stretches green until it rises in the reliefs that accompany the horizon line. Do not miss the Civic Museum, which preserves the testimonies of local history: here are exhibited the finds of the peasant civilization and of the crafts, of the sacred and ethnographic art, in a material and emotional story of this territory and its people.
